The novel The Story of a Seagull and the Cat Who Taught Her to Fly by Luis Sepùlveda tells the adventures of a cat named Zorba who finds himself caring for a chick of Kengah the Seagull. The mother, a beautiful seagull, accidentally ends up in an oil slick spilled in the sea and just before dying, she leaves the egg she has just laid in the care of the cat.
