“Anne of Green Gables” follows the story of Anne Shirley, an imaginative and talkative orphan, who is mistakenly sent to live with Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert on their farm in Prince Edward Island. Initially, the Cuthberts are looking for a boy to help with the farm, but they eventually come to love Anne and make her a permanent part of their family. I would have liked to cry: the make-up stopped me, it looked just right, with the cracks, with the places where it was beginning to flake off, tears would have ruined all that. I could cry later, if I still felt like it.

And now here is my secret, a very simple secret: It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.
Our destiny is what we want it to be, not what has been carved in stone. It's our life, not someone else's dream.
