A small village in Calabria is the starting point for the stories of the Macrì family. These stories particularly focus on female protagonists: women united by their common passion for the sea and, often, by the same tragic fate. Concetta and Sara, mother and daughter, are brought together by life for only a few months, but they share and experience the same hardships, sufferings, and disappointments. They give their love to men who initially seem to reciprocate their feelings sincerely, but ultimately reveal their violence and cruelty. Is it an inescapable fate, or is there always a chance for rebirth?
