Romania, 1989. In Europe, communist regimes are falling one after the other. Seventeen-year-old Christian Florescu dreams of becoming a poet and philosopher. But Romanians do not have the right to dream – they are limited by rules and force. As the maniacal dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu rages, when the country is ruled by lies, violence and fear, Kristian begins to be blackmailed by the security forces to become their spy.
