The author begins with a panorama of the major media cases of the last 15 years in order to deconstruct the treatment of these cases by the media, the justice system and pressure groups. The arguments are numerous, precise and reinforced by pertinent quotes and anecdotes.
The author shows how the media minimize, if not eliminate, the responsibility of men, how they manage to excuse or even justify the acts of rape or sexual assault that they present, in contempt of the women victims. She dissects all the means offered by the French language (vocabulary, turns of phrase, metaphors) to pursue these objectives. This book aims to open up our eyes to this expression of the collective unconscious, this culture of male domination.
