Based on a true story from Japan, this book follows the legendary loyalty of an Akita dog named Hachiko. Every day, Hachiko accompanies his master, Professor Ueno, to the Shibuya train station and waits for his return in the afternoon. However, one day the professor suffers a fatal stroke at work and never returns. Despite this, Hachiko continues to wait at the station every single day for nearly ten years, becoming a national symbol of devotion and love. The story is told through the eyes of a young boy named Yasuo, who befriends the dog during his long vigil.
