“A Dark and Drowning Tide” follows Lorelei, a folklorist, and Sylvia, her academic rival, as they are thrown together on an expedition to find a mythical spring with magical powers. When the expedition’s leader, and Lorelei’s mentor, is murdered, they must work together to solve the crime and navigate political intrigue, monstrous creatures, and their own growing feelings.
